About the job:

We are now helping a Hong Kong government department looking for a project supervisor to provide store and collection management support services.

Contract Period

  • From Jan 2019 - Jan 2020

Job duties:

  • (i) To coordinate the handover of around 4,500 acquired film-related materials to the Resource Centre for accessioning by centralizing the arranged items in HKFA and other offsite stores, spot checking and aligning the practice of categorisation of film-related materials prepared by different service providers, as well as counter-checking the arrangement registry table and data inputted to the online collection management system against the objects before transfer;
  • (ii) To supervise the Project Assistant in the preliminary arrangement of 2,500 newly acquired film-related materials by providing research information of the acquired items, monitoring the arrangement practice and counter-checking the arranged items;
  • (iii) To monitor the conditions of Acquisition Unit's stores (Stores), including but not limited to the workrooms in HKFA and two offsite stores located in the Eastern District and Sha Tin District, by liaising with Conservation and Venue staff of HKFA to maintain the conditions of Stores and vetting Stores-related reports and records prepared by Project Assistant;
  • (iv) To maintain an accurate location record of the film-related materials in the Stores and to locate and transfer the materials upon request of retrieval for checking and further processing; and
  • (v) To provide administrative support to the Acquisition Unit.

Requirements:

  • (i) A Higher Diploma ( or equivalent) or above;
  • (ii) At least one year working experience in archive, library or museum related fields;
  • (iii) Knowledge and experience in store management;
  • (iv) Knowledge and experience in handling digital image, paper and photo based materials;
  • (v) Knowledge of Hong Kong Cinema;
  • (vi) The certificate of manual handling issued by Occupational Safety &
  • Health Council (OSHC) or OSHC's recognized organization;
  • (vii) Ability to lift at least 8kg of paper materials from shelves; (viii)Knowledge in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access;
  • (ix) Proficiency in Chinese and English data entry; and
  • (x) Ability to read and write Chinese and English and fluent in Cantonese.
