The Hong Kong Apprenticeship Program is a six-month program designed to provide a realistic career experience working in the financial services and gain real work experience as part of our innovative and exciting teams across our lines of businesses. Learning & development opportunities will also be provided throughout the program duration - including training as well as senior management networking opportunities.
Over the course of the program, you will be provided the necessary training and also learn a great deal from your colleagues and teammates. You will also get opportunities to meet senior colleagues and continue building your own professional network. You will develop essential knowledge and skills, and is an outstanding first step towards building a dynamic, long term career with us.

Finance
Finance & Business Management offers challenging opportunities to work on local regulatory reporting, financial reporting, P&L and Risk reporting and project-related work on new products/or system implementation. You will get to understand a wide range of different derivative products, the implications of control issues and their potential impact on the legal entity financial statements and regulatory filings. You will have opportunities to interact with various lines of businesses, including financial controllers, business managers and technology team. This will broaden your communication skills and build up your confidence which will give you a well-rounded experience.
Operations
Within Corporate & Investment Banking we deal with a variety of client solutions including custody, accounting, fund administration, middle office, collateral management, performance management and data solutions.
Operations teams leverage technology and industry-leading capabilities to support our client's needs, making it easy and convenient to do business with the firm. Working in one of our Operation teams will help you to learn how Operations drives our business. You will have ample opportunities to make a real contribution to the organization - these include improving existing processes, enhancing our risk environment and bettering the client experience.
Technology
Technology - Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) - Builds and maintains the technology to safely service the world's most important corporations, governments and institutions. CIB provides strategic advice, raises capital, manages risk, and extends liquidity in markets spanning over 100 countries around the world. CIB technologists develop solutions for a bank entrusted with holding $18 trillion of assets and $393 billion in deposits.
The software engineer will participate in daily scrum, work with business or leads to understand the requirements, design, and write code to develop technology solutions on various global, strategic and core platforms focusing primarily on post trade client services. Their time will be spent in developing micro services in Core Java and various frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot providing them exposure to messaging platforms like Apache Kafka, streaming frameworks like Kafka streams/KSQL, NoSQL databases like Oracle NoSQL, MongoDB etc. and web technologies like Node/React JS. They would need to deploy these micro services using CI/CD in production infrastructure (JPMC private cloud - GAIA, Public Cloud - AWS) and provide post release application support. They would also be involved in application modernization initiatives which involves migrating the current technical stack from physical hosts to public cloud (AWS) to align post trade components with wider CIB strategy. In addition to this, developing technology solutions to facilitate onboarding fixed income business to strategic middle office allocation platform. Conduct software design discussions and code reviews within the team to ensure highest quality software is developed to support the JPM business and clients.
