General Job Outline:

As a member of our team, you support the preparation of the Annual Accounts, the quarterly and annual regulatory reporting to the insurance supervisor, internal reporting to Management as well as ad hoc reporting in accordance with the generally accepted accounting policies in Hong Kong, and Group reporting. You provide support on operational task transfer to outsourcing team. You provide support on transition to new accounting system including User Acceptance Test and liaising for customisation for local requirements. Also to support all local financial operational tasks.

About the Role:

  • Preparation of quarterly statutory reporting to Insurance Authority and other government bodies and ad hoc regulatory report request
  • Preparation of quarterly US GAAP review pack to Group and Regional teams
  • Assist in preparation of year end closing and annual financial reports, including statutory reports and regulatory reports, according to Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standard and Insurance Companies Ordinance, and coordination with the auditors.
  • Perform reasonableness check and monitoring control over monthly closing with outsourcing team.
  • Assist in transition to new Accounting system and new financial reporting tool, including data cleaning, UAT and liaising for customisation for local requirement
  • Handle cheque deposit and bank advice
  • Preparation of Intra Group Retrocession quarterly filling to Group Finance
  • Preparation of company registry annual return
  • Preparation of regulatory filling to Insurance Authority
  • Preparation of bank documentation
  • Preparation of other ad hoc reports required by group or internal stakeholders
  • Assist in any ad hoc projects

About the Team
Hong Kong Finance Carrier team is key team of SRZHK branch. The team is responsible for the carrier's statutory reporting and financial reporting of the Branch. Key external stakeholders are regulator, auditor and clients. Key internal stakeholders are group and regional finance team, legal and compliance, client market, actuary, risk management, branch committee.
About You
  • University graduate major in Accounting or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Relevant 2-3 years accounting experience
  • Good knowledge on financial accounting and relevant insurance regulatory requirements in Hong Kong
  • Knowledge on reinsurance business would be an added advantage.
  • Able to support identification and resolution of issues in addition to maintaining good communication and establish rapport with internal stakeholders
  • Eye for details and good organizing skills
  • Good written English and interpersonal skills
  • Able to express thoughts and communicate in a clear manner
