Accounting Analyst

Atlas Air Inc. is looking for a caliber to join the team as an  Accounting Analyst . In this role, you will be working with the Revenue   Accounting Supervisor  in the  Corporate Accounting team to  Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual account roll forward schedules for various balance sheet accounts for Atlas Air and Polar Air. Provide support for revenue closing on a regular basis. Work closely with customers, business partners and other department colleagues to solve revenue related issue. Provide analytical support for departmental projects as required.

In this role, you will get to:

  •   Ability to work with external/ internal auditors, Atlas accounting, finance and all other personnel
  •   Preform bi-weekly revenue closing
  •   Prepare weekly interline billing upload to IATA Clearing House website
  •   Assist in preparation for internal and external auditor’s request
  •   Handle daily routine accounting transactions and matters
  •   Prepare various report on monthly basis for upper management’s review
  •   Prepare daily cash receipts which includes, but is not limited to, wires, lockbox, and local deposits
  •   Responsible for normal cash application activity associated with accounts receivable including follow-up or contact customers to obtain necessary remittance information   
  •   Prepare month-end accruals and analysis
  •   Prepare and send A/R invoices to customers
  •   Responsible for account reconciliations
  •   Drive timely collections of receivables by communicating with customers and Sale & Marketing personnel
  •   Demonstrate the knowledge and carry out all tasks in compliance to SOX control
  •   Provide informational training to junior staff
  •   Ad hoc projects

 What makes you stand out:

  •   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  •   5-6 years’ work experiences in accounts receivable / general accounting
  •   Qualified CPA or equivalent is a plus
  •   Former experience in Aviation or Logistics industry is a plus
  •   Strong analytical skills
  •   JD Edwards software experience is preferable
  •   Available to work extended hours as needed
  •   Good oral and written communications skills
  •   Advanced computer skills in Microsoft applications
  •   Team player is a must
  •   Must be able to demonstrate professionalism in communicating with various departments within the company
  •   Immediately available is preferred
