AML Compliance Specialist (1-year contract)

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a checker role on customer due diligence and ongoing monitoring for Octopus wallet and merchant customers (tasks including onboarding, name screening, trigger event review, etc.)
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff so as to improve the quality of deliverables
  • Conduct regular high-risk review to existing customers (both individuals and merchants) and trigger event reviews (where necessary)
  • Gather relevant information and prepare regular reports for management review and for regulatory reporting
  • Contribute to the review, standardization and rollout of policies, procedures, processes and systems if necessary
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the management and assist other team members where necessary


  • Degree holder preferably in Risk Management, Engineering or Computer Science discipline
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in financial services industry with sound experience in AML Compliance
  • Knowledgeable in Payment Systems and Stored Value Facilities Ordinance/Banking Ordinance and HKMA’s AML Guideline is a plus
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel (hands-on experience in MS Excel functions e.g. Pivot tables, VLOOKUP etc. is an advantage)
  • Attentive to details and multi-tasking
  • Quick learner and proactive with can-do attitude
  • Able to provide quality work under tight schedule and minimal supervision
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
