About the role
This role provides an excellent opportunity to become part of the Swiss Re L&H Business Management team and collaborate with clients and various teams within Swiss Re locally and regionally. This role has a focus on service delivery across the claims team ensuring we are developing and deploying the right claims services to the right clients.
Reporting to the regional L&H Claims Service Manager Asia, you will be a subject matter specialist in claims across the region. You will proactively and collaboratively work with the wider claims team and cross-functional team on the following;
You will ensure the services offered by Swiss Re's L&H Claims team are regionally consistent and aligned to our client segmentation model (including access to Swiss Re training, claims resources etc).
You will engage with internal Swiss Re teams and stakeholders to ensure effective management of the L&H in-force claims portfolios, business goals and financial targets, whilst maintaining a long-term focus on sustainability and strategic objectives. You will need to proactively engage in internal projects and initiatives with a focus on claims analytics and data management.
About the team
Swiss Re Life and Health (L&H) Claims forms part of the Swiss Re L&H Business Management function which is responsible for managing in-force business and the related operations. There are four units within the Business Management division; Claims, Actuarial Management, Portfolio Management and Technical Accounting. In addition to the in-force management of existing business, Business Management ensures insights gained from in-force business are appropriately incorporated in our new business activities.
L&H Business Management (including Claims) works closely with other Swiss Re teams specifically L&H Products (Underwriting) and Client Markets to ensure Swiss Re has aligned priorities and client focus whilst delivering market-specific, portfolio-directed services, which support our overall strategic approach to managing risks and client relationships.
Significant awareness of life insurance markets and portfolio dynamics in across Asia.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Substantial collaboration capabilities and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to develop solutions and innovate (product development and services).
Technical L&H claims expertise.
Strong L&H product knowledge.
Understanding and knowledge of the insurance/ reinsurance industry.
Courage to challenge the status quo, to explore new ideas that improve our business and may be out of the comfort zone and historical activities.
Ability to step back from detail to see the bigger picture.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Tertiary level education in a relevant discipline.
