Established in 1993, Hang Seng Investment Management Limited (“HSVM") is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank Limited, and is one of the largest Hong Kong homegrown asset management companies.  HSVM specializes in Hong Kong and China markets and is committed to offering retail and institutional investors with a comprehensive range of investment products including ETFs, index tracking funds, actively-managed equities and fixed income funds, retirement funds, as well as institutional and corporate portfolios. 

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Analyst, Indexing.

Principal responsibilities

  • Support Fund Managers to manage relevant index tracking portfolios including ETFs, index funds, and institutional portfolios
  • Provide assistance in daily portfolio construction and rebalancing activities
  • Conduct analysis and research on subjects relevant to passive investments 
  • Provide analytical support to feasibility study of new products
  • Provide support to client servicing on request
  • Adhere with stringent monitoring procedures and highest standard of compliance

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.  
  • Strong quantitative skills and computer analytic and programming skill with advanced knowledge in VBA, Python, SQL or other programming language 
  • Expected to work towards obtaining the CFA designation
  • Relevant investment experience in reputable and established asset management firms or financial institutions is preferable. Alternatively, relevant experience gained from the financial index industry will also be considered
  • Basic knowledge of index methodologies, risk models and ETP markets
  • Good knowledge of investment compliance and risk management
  • Shown strong situation awareness, strong desire to learn and able to work in Agile environment
  • Resilience to stress, able to unlock full potential and prepare for the future of work
  • Able to communicate effectively with good interpersonal skill
  • Strong self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, Chinese and Mandarin
