Analyst - Settlements (12 month contract)


What is the opportunity?

As the Analyst – Settlements, you will be responsible for providing operational support for fixed income and central funding processing and settlement for Royal Bank of Canada (Hong Kong and Sydney). You will complete all daily processing and settlement tasks in a timely and accurate manner, following established procedures and policies of RBC.

What will you do?

  • Completes input and processing on both internal and external settlement systems (i.e. RITS, Euroclear, Gloss, Exigo, NZ Clear)
  • Carefully review all inward and outward cash flows within strict daily timeframe
  • Ensures daily matching of all deal confirmations in a timely manner
  • Constant dealer and client liaison
  • Timely and accurate completion of data entry in settlement systems
  • Accurate maintenance of facility parameters and records in the back office
  • Ensure appropriate storage and archival procedures are adopted for the correct retention and destructions of records
  • Maintain sound knowledge of RBC Standing Orders and Policies
  • Seek to improve productivity by positively challenging the status quo
  • Deal verifications
  • Seek to mitigate and minimize risks inherent in the Operations Department by following agreed processes
  • Corporate Actions, coupon and redemption for Fixed Income Securities
  • Settlement for FIC, CFG, Toronto Collateral, GLA (Corporate Banking and FIC Securitization) business under RBC Branch (Sydney and Hong Kong)
  • Act as AUD and NZD domestic settlement agent for RBC Europe Limited
  • Cash Funding and End of Day reconciliations
  • Work on ad hoc request as delegated outside of normal day-day responsibilities

What do you need to succeed?


  • Minimum 2-3 years of business support and operations experience within Treasury\Fixed Income market
  • Experience in Front to Back Business and Operational Support
  • Knowledge of other market products beneficial
  • Ability to multitask, work with minimal local supervision day to day
  • Strong in PC skills.
  • Can work well as an individual as well as within a team environment, displaying good interpersonal and team skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English) required due regional support structure
  • Ability to work Hong Kong public holidays when required
  • Ability to work Shift Hours as required. This role covers Australian market trading times



  • Diploma/ Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline preferred
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment
