Role
In the role of learning partner, he/she will consult, design and facilitate strategic and tactical solutions with a focus on AWM Corporate functions to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and capability in order to accomplish its business objectives through its people. These solutions will include vendor-led as well as self-facilitated training programs/curriculums. There is also an element of program management responsibilities for the analyst and associate hires with the AWM front office functions where he/she will work closely with global program management teams, HR business partners and analyst managers to manage a cohesive A&A curriculum for the region.
In the regulatory lead role, he/she will be responsible for the governance, the oversight and the need analysis with business to rollout regulatory related trainings. The training programs and curriculums include those of regulatory required trainings, trainings for staffs’ requirement to fulfill the annual continuous education hours, and for professional development. The person will be responsible to liaise with respective coverage function, compliance, auditors and local regulators on training related requirements.
The candidate will report to the Deputy Head of Asia Asset & Wealth Management Talent Institute in Asia Pacific region, and work in partnership with AWM CAO business heads/managers, cross-function learning teams, compliance, Line, HR business partners, and other specialists in achieving these objectives. This position is located in Hong Kong and travel is required to other Asia locations occasionally. Frequent phone meetings with the North America and EMEA teams are required and require flexibility in schedule.
Responsibilities include:
  • Partners with subject matter experts and vendors to translate business needs into learning deliverables.
  • Keep abreast and acts upon the latest changes in regulatory landscape and requirements that may impact different businesses in terms of training & development.
  • Establishes and maintains training vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Manages training budget for given deliverables.
  • Conducts training evaluation to identify program impact, return on investment, and areas of improvement.
  • Works with consultants and relationship managers of different lines of business in the region, on the planning, design and delivery of learning sessions.
  • Acts as change management consultant to business leaders to influence and execute plans for global and specific business entities to adopt best regulatory practices to fulfill current and near-future regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to deliver simply structured reports and analytics that enable better decisions and advises to be given to the businesses
  • Possess understanding of local regulatory requirements and banking & financial professionals obligations to adhere to their professional code of conduct
  • Partners to design and implement regional learning agenda pertaining specifically to regulatory and technical trainings while customizing for country specific needs. Determine project parameters and ensure quality solutions which include Continuous Professional Development (SG CPD/ HK CPT & OPT) for the licensed professionals in respective locations.
Qualifications:
  • At least 7+ years of Learning and Development experience
  • Leadership, consulting and strategic thinking with a client focus
  • Experience in legal, compliance, financial services, oversight & control, or audit background preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence & execute plans through matrix relationships
  • Strong sense of ownership and works independently with a team
  • Drive for quality and results; strong work ethic with a superior ability to multi-task
  • Project management and organization skills
  • Technology acumen includes Microsoft Office suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, or Sharepoint
  • Interpersonal effectiveness and teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving & consultative
  • Experience interacting with senior management
  • Experience working across remote/multi-site settings
