Our Team

The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) Asia team is responsible for implementation and oversight of Anti Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures for the firm's businesses in Asia. The successful candidate will principally be involved in the day-to-day functions of the Wholesale Payments AML Compliance team providing advisory on financial crimes matters related to the Wholesale Payments fintech segment as well as performing compliance review and advise the Line of Business on any financial crimes risks accordingly. The individual is also expected to contribute and actively participate in strategic policy and procedures or implementation initiatives at regional and global level. This role implies a close working relationship with business and other controls functions regionally and globally.

Responsibilities
 

  • Implement, develop and ensure adherence to the BSA/AML requirements
  • Provide Wholesale Payments (WP) and fintech/payment processing AML Compliance Advisory guidance, risk based solutions to complex regional business issues/initiatives
  • Conduct due diligence discussions and reviews on prospective clients for proposed transactions
  • Review and approve current and new WP product programs, offerings and potential deals.
  • Monitor and risk assess new and upcoming laws, regulations, policies procedures and products affecting country as and when they arise.
  • Deal on a timely basis with enquiries from Regulators, Law Enforcement Bodies and internally from the business
  • Develop and implement projects to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of AML risk within Wholesale Payments in the Region.
  • Evaluate, monitor and quality assure existing procedures and develop new procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with current Anti-Money Laundering local requirements and the Firms' minimum standards.
  • Produce, review and act on any AML related management information at an APAC level as required from the Firm's MIS reporting framework.
  • Perform supervisory reviews and embed an ongoing quality assurance program to identify staff development areas and monitor ongoing performance.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of the AML training and testing programmes for the firm. Provide guidance and advice to the business on their responsibility for complying with all relevant laws, regulations and firm policies in the assigned locations.
  • Partner with regional and global counterparts to ensure a consistent global program through the regions.

Qualifications
  • 8 plus years of solid experience in a compliance and AML related discipline preferably with a bank or financial institution
  • Sound knowledge of AML regulations across APAC region (including Sanctions and Anti Bribery)
  • Understanding and knowledge of the fintech/eCommerce space, with relevant AML Compliance Advisory experience in this segment will be an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. In addition fluency in Mandarin is required as the individual is expected to interact with local Chinese clients
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills. Should be able to strategize, organize and execute regional and global directives with stakeholders across functions at various levels
  • Ability to prioritize, and be able to meet urgent deadlines to facilitate business transactions
  • Be a trusted advisor and build sound relationships with stakeholders across all lines of businesses, and across functional groups. Must be driven towards being result oriented
  • Must be a self-starter, pro-active, organized, with a keen eye on details and have the ability to work independently at a local, regional and global level
  • Ability to provide precise advice to stakeholders, effectively manage partnership with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong research skills, familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, intuitive and take initiatives to identify potential process improvements
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics and be able to thrive in a diverse and inclusive work environment
