Job Description


Fusion Systems is seeking an  Application Support Engineer  to join our growing financial trading technology division, Raptor. Raptor is a leading ultra-low-latency market access and risk management platform, servicing the world’s largest financial institutions and their high-value order flows. The role is suited to a candidate with strong Linux skills and proficiency in scripting languages, and looking for a hands-on role in application design and development in mission-critical front-office technology. The successful candidate will work alongside a high-caliber team at one of the world’s largest and most innovative investment banks.





  • Improve and develop automated tools.
  • Test and document new and existing software systems.
  • Release new software systems in production.
  • Client on-boarding.
  • Monitor trading systems.
  • Document and follow-up on incidents and bug reports.
  • Communicate with technical teams regarding system and client trading status.
  • Ongoing training and development will be provided to motivated applicants interested in establishing a career in this fast paced and dynamic environment.




Basic Qualifications


  • A minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience in a UNIX environment.
  • Shell scripting experience.
  • Version control tools such as Git,  Subversion  or Mercurial.
  • Familiarity with Python ORMS technologies.
  • Strong   Python or Perl proficiency  including client-server socket development, object-oriented methodology, native Python and foreign c-types function libraries.
  • Strong UNIX skills including ability to analyze/parse log files using utilities such as grep, awk, sed.
  • Strong UNIX-based text editor skills such as vi, emacs.
  • Solid understanding of software life-cycle phases including development, testing, release and maintenance.
  • Financial instrument trade flow familiarity.
  • Familiarity with FIX trading protocol.
  • Working knowledge of ticketing and issue tracking systems.
  • A teamwork attitude and ability to maintain a professional demeanor when resolving issues.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous customer-oriented service experience.
  • Database querying languages such as SQLite or MySQL.
  • Familiarity with OUCH, OM, TSE AHD trading protocols.
