Asia Business Oversight Manager

With various operating models developed over the years, there’s a strong need for Societe Generale (SG) to demonstrate a good level of oversight on outsourced and offshored activities for deals originated in Asia and locally in front of regulators of different jurisdictions. The Oversight team (OVS) plays a critical bridge between

SG and our service provider partners of Operations activities for Global Business Services. The OVS function (created within SG in 2013) has teams in global hubs (Paris, NY, London & HK) responsible for the supervision (Run, Change, Contract, Change) of selected Outsourced Essential Service Providers and related activities.

Role Summary:
The Asia Business Oversight Manager main responsibilities will focus on the production monitoring aspect of the OVS supervision activities of internal and external outsourced essential activities including the handling of incident escalation, governance, feedback assessment and cost monitoring/control.

Primary Responsibilities:
Closely monitor the production performance of offshored and outsourced activities
Handling of queries and escalations from onshore teams and co-ordination of incident reviews with stakeholders
Monitor of actions linked to operational incidents and recurring issues, follow up on root cause, corrective actions and their implementation – keeping stakeholders informed where needed
Chair or attend governance meetings with service providers to ensure coherence, follow issues, share best practices, discuss performance, incidents, issues and upcoming changes
Participation and support to service provider quality plan and process improvement initiatives
Lead monthly feedback assessment on services being provided to the region
Perform historical trend analysis and make proposals on improvement actions and monitor through to implementation
Regular engagement and meetings with onshore production teams to collect feedback and provide update on service provider organization
Monitoring of functional and local entity governance to ensure quality, accuracy, completeness and identification of areas of strengthening
Monthly billing validation and cost monitoring of internal OES
Aid in the enhancement of the oversight tools and processes
Desired Skills and Experience
5+ years experience in a financial services / investment banking operations role – ideally in a cross product environment
Experience working with global teams; ability to work with virtual/global resources working in a different time zones
Strong analytical skill to be able to assess incidents and propose process changes and improvements
Good attention to detail – to ensure accuracy of reports being sent to senior stakeholders
Positive and proactive mindset with good problem solving skills
Clear verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability and confidence to effectively manage interactions with stakeholders at different levels
Good organization / co-ordination skills
Ability and maturity to work independently when needed to work on tasks
Team player and ability to adapt to different situations and tasks
Understanding and awareness of operational risk
Understanding and awareness of investment banking outsourcing industry
Ability and willingness to travel on occasion
