The Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities (GFICC) team is globally integrated with experienced investment professionals, working in every major market around the world, utilizing a rigorous research process to scan the markets for investment opportunities. This approach enables us to create long-lasting value for clients. Currently, the GFICC team manages more than $500 billion in fixed income and currency assets.

GFICC Head of APAC Trading:

The team is searching for an individual to join as Head of GFICC APAC Trading at the Executive Director level. The role will report into the Head of GFICC Non US Trading based in London and will work closely with traders and other partners across multiple, global locations.

The role will be based in Hong Kong and will require travel to Taiwanand London.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Provide direct management oversight for a team of traders located in Hong Kong and Taiwan
  • Primary face to counterparties in Asia, representing the GFICC platform across investments and trading
  • Manage wallet across full product suite and ensure efficient execution as an integral part of the investment process
  • Devise and build infrastructure strategy, including trading architecture and use of electronic trading avenues
  • Demonstrate a clear focus on controls to mitigate operating risk in the trading environment
  • Provide an effective liaison between the Front Office and various support groups (e.g. Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Audit, HR) to manage both the day to day trading operations, and to drive change
  • Partner with other LOBs globally (e.g. Beta) to shape the JPM AM market structure strategy and share best practice / drive consistency across AM

Qualifications:


  • Exceptional understanding of how the Fixed Income markets trade with at least 15 years trading or trading management experience.
  • In depth experience of a buy-side fixed income trading operation across both primary and secondary markets. Experience trading in the sell-side would be advantageous.
  • Ability to evidence proof of the success of change in enhancing trading capabilities e.g. benchmarking, TCA
  • Proven record of delivery of both managing FI trading operations and delivering change in this space
  • Detailed product knowledge across multiple different fixed income asset classes
  • Strength in shaping a technology strategy to interact with increasingly electronic markets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence successfully a broad range of individuals
  • Experience in working in a global organization and implementing change globally but with sensitivity to the local markets
  • Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and laterally
  • Ability to navigate a complex internal infrastructure that involves numerous groups and individuals to get things done
  • A precision and risk management mindset.
