Assistant Accounting Supervisor (challenging opportunity with a renowned NGO in HK)

Our client is one of the largest Social Services Organisations in Hong Kong. They are now looking for a high caliber to join their accounting team as an Assistant Accounting Supervisor.


  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports to meet various requirements, including ad hoc reports to support various funding applications
  • Work closely and independently with various service units to examine accounting records and ensure accuracy of all financial data and accounting procedures
  • Supervise and check the issuing of payment vouchers, cheques, various financial statements and bank reconciliation statements
  • Liaise with external parties in relation to any financial matters, including but not limited to the government, funding bodies, banks and auditors
  • Provide internal training for other service units and actively monitor internal controls and practices, so as to ensure compliance with statutory and organisational requirements
  • Assist the Accounting Supervisor in analysing and interpreting financial information
  • Assist on the supervision of team members and undertake any ad hoc assignments, including hands-on operational duties
  • Constantly review and make recommendations to modify the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting procedures and implement process re-engineering if necessary


  • Degree holder in Accountancy, Finance or relevant disciplines
  • ACCA or HKICPA qualification is a MUST
  • A minimum of 5 years of solid accounting experience, of which 2 years are in supervisory role; work experience in sizeable NGOs will be a definite advantage
  • Excellent command in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Detail-minded, with strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach and influence others; good telephone manner is necessary
  • Mature and self-initiated, willing to learn and work overtime
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Chinese Word Processing
  • Hands on experience in Oracle Financial System is highly preferred
