Mainland Headwear Assistant Compliance Manager

The Assistant Compliance Manager provides managerial and technical leadership and support for Mainland Headwear’s Compliance Program. The position is based in Shenzhen, China and needs to spend 4 – 5 months per year for frequent travels at Bangladesh factory..

Responsibilities:
In charge Mainland Headwear’s Compliance Program in implementing regulatory and Code of Conduct compliance and international best practices in labor standards, human resource management, environment, and health and safety.
Develops, manages and evaluates Compliance Program policies, procedures, training, internal audit and reporting processes.
Leads, coordinates and facilitates communication among Mainland functional areas (e.g., Payroll, Human Resources, Operations, Health and Safety) and New Era Cap, as well as with external stakeholders (e.g. FLA) relative to Compliance Program activities. .
Compiles metrics and tracks progress of program activities, goals and action plans.
Communicates with subcontractors about Compliance Program requirements and expectations, and oversees compliance approval process.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

Through a minimum of four years in a compliance-related field, you must be able to demonstrate acquired skills and achievement in:

Human resources / health and safety management
Knowledge of codes of conduct (e.g. FLA, SA8000, WRAP), ILO Conventions, international best practices
Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with migrant workers a plus.
Problem-solving / conflict resolution

Personal and Leadership Qualifications

Strong organizational, creativity and process management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Speaking and presentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written English and Chinese.

Education

College diploma, university degree or equivalent – Management, Political Science, Human Resources, Labor, Economics, Law
