Responsibilities:

  • Handle Hong Kong & overseas securities, bonds and unit trusts settlement
  • Pre-match trade with settlement counterparty
  • Monitor settlement problems and pro-actively seek viable solutions
  • Daily reconciliation of stock and money positions after each settlement run
  • Handle related upstream / downstream functions like IPO processing, stamp duty payment, prepare orders for Units Trust subscription or redemption, re-register physical shares upon settlement, follow up any dividend claims on cum-dividend transactions etc
  • Monitoring funding and any credit requirements
  • Liaise with counterparty / other department for issues relating to securities settlement
  • Monitor related market developments, regulatory changes and share information or experience with team members
  • Contribute to system and processing enhancements, participate in UAT tests and other ad-hoc projects 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above, with SFC Qualifications for handling regulated activities Types 1 & 4
  • At least 2 years experience with local and overseas stocks, bonds and funds settlement
  • Strong technical knowledge about the related market infrastructure, industry norms, clearing and settlement mechanism on both local and international depository platforms, default penalties, common tax rules etc
  • A good team-player with strong communication, interpersonal and coordinating skills
  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
  • Pro-active in identifying and resolving problems
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, proficient in Mandarin preferred
  • Proficient in PC applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Chinese Word Processing
