OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Reporting directly to the Director of Student Affairs, the appointee will be responsible for the overall planning and management of the Leadership Qualities Centre (LQC) and the Scholarships and Financial Aid Unit (SFA) with an aim to promote the whole person development of students. He/She is expected to perform the following main duties:
(a) Developing and implementing long and short term strategic goals of LQC in light of the strategic directions of the University and Office of Student Affairs;
(b) Designing, conducting and reviewing student development activities, in particular related to students’ overseas service-learning experiences;
(c) Designing and managing student co-curricular learning activities to promote global awareness, community engagement and service-learning;
(d) Leading and supervising the work of LQC;
(e) Leading SFA in administering and reviewing all scholarship and bursary schemes and advising the related offices in the University on student finance matters;
(f) Facilitating students’ application for Government Grant and Loan Scheme;
(g) Coaching and training students to apply for external scholarships and awards; and
(h) Participating in the strategic development and overall planning of the Office of Student Affairs.
Applicants should possess a good honors degree and preferably a postgraduate qualification, extensive senior management experience, substantial knowledge in student affairs, and strong leadership with the ability to handle complex issues tactfully in a fast-changing environment. They should demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and negotiation skills, and be highly proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
