Assistant Engineer (Ref. 221124014)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) facilitate student learning and development, and assist in pedagogy development;

(b) assist in research support and knowledge transfer activities;

(c) carry out essential operations of the assigned technical Stream; and

(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Centre or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product and Industrial Engineering, Aviation Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) competency in one or more of the following technical trades: fibre composites fabrication, welding, sheet metal forming, destructive testing, non-destructive inspection and machine learning;

(c) competency in the preparation of teaching materials by using CAD applications, Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat. Experience in programming languages will be an added advantage;

(d) good communication skills with experience in working as a team member in research and development project; and

(e) a good command of both written and spoken English, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
