Assistant H&S Manager, Hong Kong

In this role, you will be part of market health and safety team where you can take full use of your expertise and experience in health and safety. You will be pivotal in improving the Philips H&S performance and reducing operational risks by driving the Philips Health and Safety Program in offices in China. 


You are responsible for

  • Work as the primary H&S liaison in HK
  • Monitoring local H&S laws and regulations and deploy the requirements in HK
  • Deploy Philips C hina H&S pro grams in the office and fields
  • Set up ISO45001 health and safety management system in HK
  • Contractor safety management
  • Provide H&S training and communications
  • Conduct audits in office and fields
  • Accident reporting and investigation
  • Emergency response management
Activities
  • Ensure availability of H&S plans and targets for HK and monitor performance monthly.
  • Legal compliance assessment in a quarterly basis. Manage regulatory reports, registrations and permits required for HK.
  • Conduct accident investigation for all H&S incidents.
  • Implement safety gemba together with the Local Health & Safety Committee every month
  • Deploy global H&S procedures to local level and have HK certified ISO45001.
  • Coordinate and execute the health and safety audit program in conjunction with internal and/or external consultants
  • Manage closure of corrective actions and report compliance status to senior management
  • Coordinate/ Lead / Participate in- or facilitate multidisciplinary work groups on issues such as emergency response, travel safety, BCM, COVID-19 monitoring and support.
  • Chair and coordinate regular meetings with the Local Health & Safety Committee
  • Share best practices, information, advice and H&S requirements in the market and ensure deployment, support and training when needed
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Fluent in English
  • 3+ years of experience in H&S management
  • Familiar with OSHAS18001 or ISO45001 management system, certified internal or leader auditor (preferred)
  • Familiar with HK EHS laws and regulations.
  • Good people management and communication skills through organizational layers
  • Team player, goal oriented and pragmatic (gets things done)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, well organized.
