The appointee will work with a team of IT professionals to (a) provide technical support to the academic programs of Department of Computing and Decision Sciences such as server management, web site updating, classroom support, computer account management; (b) support daily helpdesk operations, handle hotline calls and perform on-site technical support; (c) prepare PC imaging and cloning for staff and computer labs; (d) assist in the annual PC and printer replacement exercise; (e) maintain user accounts on LINUX and Window servers and departmental websites; and (f) evaluate and recommend software/hardware recommendations; and (g) undertake other tasks as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a recognized degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines or equivalent; (ii) a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in desktop, server and end user support; (iii) practical skills in disk cloning and backup tools and Microsoft SCCM, etc; (iv) solid experience in system administration of LINUX and Windows platforms; (v) sound knowledge in web page authoring and maintenance; (vi) expertise in supporting and configuring end user applications in both client and server-side; and (vii) a good command of spoken English and Cantonese. Candidates with fluent Putonghua will be advantageous. Candidates with less / more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
