Assistant Information Technology Officer (Ref. 19080902-E2)
The appointee will be required to:
(a) administer and manage various network platforms and devices in the residential halls;
(b) maintain and support various systems, databases and application servers in the residential halls;
(c) implement and support various web-based database applications;
(d) work in different sites including residential halls and the University’s campus to provide IT support for the Office;
(e) liaise with internal and external parties to ensure the provision of quality IT services; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work beyond normal office hours for IT troubleshooting and technical support when needed.
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;
(b) at least one year’s post-qualification working experience;
(c) a proven track record of managing network devices, such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, unified communication manager, VPN gateways and voice gateways;
(e) experience in maintaining and supporting database servers such as MySQL, MSSQL and Oracle applications servers, Linux Servers and Windows Servers;
(f) strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; and
(g) strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
