Assistant Information Technology Officer (Ref. 22012414-E6)

Duties

  • The appointee will be a member of the School’s IT team and will be required to:
  • undertake system development and maintenance of various web applications and websites for the operational needs of the School by referring to the University’s IT security requirement;
  • prepare documentation for web applications such as user requirement specification, functional specification, database schema and user guide;
  • provide support on e-Learning;
  • assist in providing front-end IT support to end users and other School activities; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

  • have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines with at least three years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
  • have knowledge of/experience in developing web applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Ajax, jQuery, PHP, SQL and MS SQL server;
  • have knowledge of/experience in using learning management system (e.g. Blackboard);
  • have strong analytical skills, and good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • be able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • be proactive, self-motivated and hard-working; and
  • have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Preference will be given to those who (i) are familiar with secure coding practice; (ii) have strong project management skills in application design and development; and (iii) are immediately available.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
