Assistant Information Technology Officer (Ref. 230310006)

Duties

The appointee will be a member of the School’s IT team and will be required to:

(a) undertake system development and maintenance of various web applications and websites for the operational needs of the School by referring to the University’s IT security requirement;

(b) prepare documentation for web applications such as user requirement specification, functional specification, database schema and user guide;

(c) provide support on e-Learning; and

(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines with at least three years’ relevant post-qualification experience;

(b) have knowledge of/experience in developing web applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Ajax, jQuery, PHP, SQL and MS SQL server;

(c) have knowledge of/experience in using learning management system (e.g. Blackboard);

(d) have knowledge of/experience in robotic process automation;

(e) have strong analytical skills, and good interpersonal and communication skills;

(f) be able to work independently with minimal supervision;

(g) be proactive, self-motivated and hard-working; and

(h) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Preference will be given to those who (i) are familiar with secure coding practice; (ii) have strong project management skills in application design and development; and (iii) are immediately available.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
