The appointee will lead the Library Cataloguing and Preservation Team. Reporting to the Associate Librarian (Resources Management), he or she is required to (a) oversee the cataloguing and preservation of library materials in all formats including bibliographic and authority records to ensure that a high quality standard is achieved; (b) supervise the operation of the Cataloguing and Preservation Team, Virtual Bookshelf service as well as the end-processing unit including staff supervision and budget management; (c) formulate cataloguing and authority control policies and procedures, as well as the workflow of end-processing unit; (d) monitor the bibliographic, holding item and authority records in all formats and portfolios information in a shared Integrated Library System on Alma, and assess their impact on the library discovery tool on Primo; (e) perform complex original cataloguing of all languages and formats according to in-house rules and international standards; (f) represent the Library in different committees and task forces both internally and externally; (g) serve as a subject liaison librarian and provide reference desk services on shift basis; and (h) perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor and University Librarian.

Requirements
Applicants should have (i) recognized professional qualifications in Librarianship (MLS or equivalent); (ii) about three years of relevant working experience in libraries, preferably in academic libraries; (iii) sound knowledge of international cataloguing standards, such as RDA Rules and MARC21 Standards; (iv) a good command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and (v) ability to work independently and in teams. Good working experience with Alma / Primo Systems would be an advantage.   Candidates of high caliber but less / more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
