The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19 AY, twelve programmes are included in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. (a) To catalogue and classify Learning Commons (LC) resources;
(b) To acquire LC resources and perform serial management;
(c) To provide reference services;
(d) To manage circulation and inter-LRC/LC loan services;
(e) To plan and deliver library services orientations, workshops and instructional programmes;
(f) To tabulate and evaluate statistics on usage of LC service;
(g) To assist in planning and administering LC projects;
(h) To plan and deliver institute staff development programmes in teaching and learning; and
(i) To supervise and manage the educational support team to provide teaching and learning support, including course management and learning platfoms.
(a) A recognised degree, preferrably in Librarianship or related field, or equivalent;
(b) Possession of membership of Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (MCLIP), certificate in Librarianship, or post-graduate diploma in Librarianship will be an advantage;
(c) At least 2 years’ experience in academic libraries and cataloguing, preferably with hands-on experience in Alma Library System;
(d) Good communication, inter-personal, organisational and administrative skills; and
(e) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
(1) The candidate may be appointed on temporary terms of appointment.
(2) The post is in the rank of Officer.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), a member institution of the Vocational Training Council, is established for the advancement, promotion and development of education suited to the developing needs of Hong Kong. THEi provides quality self-financed programmes with a strong vocational orientation at degree and above levels and admitted its first cohort of students in September 2012. It comprises the Faculty of Design, the Faculty of Management & Hospitality, the Faculty of Science & Technology, and a Department of General Education.
