Established in 2009, Hong Kong Green Building Council (“the Council") is the leading body, co-founded by four major construction industry and environmental organisations, driving the market transformation towards green and sustainable buildings in Hong Kong through engagement with the industry, the government and broader community.

HKGBC is expanding its secretariat team in line with its positioning as Hong Kong's leading member-based body dedicated to green building development, with opening for the post of Assistant Manager – Energy:

Job Description

  • To assist project development and funding application related to energy management, retro-commissioning, data analytic and diagnosis
  • To conduct technical study, site meeting, site investigations, measurement, survey and data collection, studies and analysis, minutes and report writing, prepare meeting presentation materials and deliver presentation
  • To prepare tenders and supervise building operators and contractors for efficient and effective project delivery, monitor progress and service quality on energy management, retrofitting and retro-commissioning works
  • To help oversee the planning, budget control, execution and logistics of various events including conferences, seminars, workshops, site visits, competitions etc.
  • To engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders such as members, government departments, professional institutions, NGOs, research institutions for partnerships and execution of projects / programmes
  • To ensure smooth operation of Standing Committees and Task Forces, liaise with members on related matters, and help oversee the implementation of their decisions


  • Bachelor degree or above in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Energy and Building Science Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years post graduated working experience in building services air conditioning discipline of the building industry in which minimum 2 years relevant working experience related to energy management and retrofitting / retro-commissioning / commissioning works of air-conditioning and lighting system.
  • Strong project (retrofitting / retro-commissioning / commissioning) management skills, ability to prioritise tasks, with good analytical skills and high level of professionalism;
  • Additional qualifications or credentials in building energy-related aspects would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, Adobe Illustrator etc.
  • Be able to work both independently and in a team, with good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
