The appointee will assist in leading the campus security team and managing an outsourced security team of around 100 personnel, and providing quality security services for on-campus and off-campus premises of the University. Major duties include formulating and implementing security plans for the University's events/functions, updating operational guidelines/practices and emergency procedures, supervising frontline staff to familiarise with and drill in procedures, overseeing security reviews and risk assessment of campus buildings, monitoring daily operation of security services and systems, ensuring the effective operation of security control systems against current and potential threats to the University, administering outsourced security contract, and coordinating local authorities/law enforcement agencies relating to security issues.
Applicants should have a recognised degree in related disciplines with a minimum of eight years of relevant post-qualification experience in supervisory position of security management or disciplinary force. He/She should have solid experience in managing the performance of outsourced security contractors in a sizable organisation. In addition, he/she should possess good knowledge and practical experience in common security systems such as closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system, alarm management system, car park management system and patrol management system, and hands-on experience in developing security processes, procedures and standards. He/She should be well-organised, have good customer service skills, good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua, good communication and presentation skills, and proficiency in computing applications. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
