The incumbent leads the monthly & yearly closing activities of General Insurance Business. His/her primarily responsibility include the following but not limited to prepare and review subordinate’s work on General Insurance for both local and group submissions, to prepare analysis and reconciliation for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss items, to prepare user requirements and provide support for system projects in order to enhance the overall effectiveness and capability in the reporting process.

Job Descriptions:

  • Responsible for both local and group reporting process for General Insurance Business in reviewing subordinates’ journal entries and reports; preparing analysis for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet items.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and review subordinates’ work on periodic statutory submissions for General Insurance Business.
  • Support the business planning exercise and to work with other teams within the organization to prepare the financials targets and major performance ratios; monitor progress towards targets.
  • Responsible for presentational materials on business updates for Senior Management and Board meetings; and Regional Quarterly Dialogues.
  • Responsible for providing user requirements on system development with respect to the business changes and enhancing reporting efficiency. Perform User-Acceptance-Test and review the testing results performed by subordinates.
  • Manage and develop the subordinates with knowledge transfer, coaching, motivation and care.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years finance-related working experience and minimum of 3 years in reporting for General Insurance at supervisory level.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in audit field is preferred.
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Good communication skill
  • Good business writing skill
  • Strong technical knowledge in accounting
  • Experience in SUN accounting system preferred
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Proficient in MS office and high proficiency in MS Excel
