Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer
The appointee will support all aspects of academic activities through teaching, research, and consultancy; contribute to the implementation of the College and School’s strategic initiatives and development; participate in programme development and validation exercises; take up responsibilities in academic and departmental administration and clinical teaching; facilitate the College in enhancing its visibility and strengthening its local and international connections; take the initiative in promoting good teaching and collaborative research; liaise with external bodies for job placements and professional development; engage in research and have publication output, in accordance to the workload requirements of the College; perform scholarly activities; increase the publication output and raise the level of consultancies in respective discipline(s); perform other academic activities including academic advising, examination and assessment, student recruitment, committee works, whole person development activities of students; and undertake professional service to external professional body / organization and provide public services to the community.
Applicants should possess a PhD degree / Professional Doctorate in a relevant discipline with not less than 3 years of substantial relevant experience in teaching in the tertiary education sector, programme development experience; an international reputation in high quality scholarship and research outputs and publications in journals with high impact in the relevant discipline; and preferably a demonstrated successful track record in obtaining external competitive grants as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator.
For Senior Lecturer position, a doctorate is preferred and applicants should possess a Master’s degree in a professional discipline with not less than 6 years of substantial relevant experience in teaching in the tertiary education sector; publications in journals of relevant discipline; and preferably a demonstrated successful track record in obtaining competitive grants as Co-Investigator.
Senior Clinical Associate
The appointee will be required to support teaching and learning activities, including preparing and developing teaching materials, delivering tutorials, classroom and laboratory-based practical classes; supervise students in their clinical projects and evaluate students’ clinical performance and skills in occupational therapy, academic advising, provide support to co-curricular activities; coordinate student clinical placement with local, national and overseas healthcare agencies; contribute to the implementation of the strategic initiatives of the College and School; participate in programme development and validation exercises (focusing in clinical aspects); take up responsibilities in departmental administration; and undertake professional service to external professional body / organization and provide public services to the community.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree related to occupational therapy practice with not less than 10 years of post-registration clinical experience in hospital / community setting; demonstrated a high level of competence in clinical teaching and evidence of continuing development as clinical mentor; and with good communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction.
Applicants should be registered occupational therapist or eligible for registration in Hong Kong.
Preference is given to applicants with professional expertise in one or more of the specialty areas, including geriatrics and rehabilitation technologies.
Fractional appointment will also be considered for successful applicant(s).
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
