About Our Client:

Our Client is a prestigious travel destination organization. They are looking for a high calibre to fill in the Assistant Public Relations Manager. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to derive PR strategies and planning activities, including development, implementation and management to uphold the destination in Mainland China market.
  • Assist to formulate nationwide and regional specific PR strategies, lead and drive PR team to develop publicity campaigns that optimize consumer journey and align with established business objectives in accordance to the Head Office’s PR guidelines and directions given by Head of Marketing, China and devising publicity plans for various events to maximize PR mileage.
    • Work closely with Area Managers and respective marketing teams in 4 Mainland offices and PR team in headquarter on nationwide and regional publicity campaigns to drive content syndication and messaging initiatives.
    • Analyze and track the performance and effectiveness of publicity campaigns, identify the area of improvement from both creative and media investment perspective.
    • Analysis and best practice sharing of publicity campaigns across the teams periodically.
  • Strengthen nationwide and regional specific media network, maintain good relationship with media; Focus on building long-term and close working relationship with senior management of key media partners such as chief editors or publishers.
    • Identify partnership opportunities with media groups nationwide.
    • Develop new story angles for publicity campaigns to win additional media pitches.
    • Stimulate more creative media coops with various media partners.
  • Plan, develop and implement PR events and activities including press conference, exhibition, consumer roadshows, trade shows, and other related events; Theme up and manage media FAMs.
  • Manage the performance and define work scope of PR agencies, news clipping houses, related event agencies and service providers on daily basis to ensure creative, production and media resources are of optimal efficiency, creativity and flexibility to achieve KPIs.
    • Derive insights and directions from the consumer and media sentiment reports submitted by agencies.
    • Proactively and effectively anticipate and drive crisis management planning and implementation e.g. Mainland and Destination sentiments, economic downturn, etc to rebuild the destination reputation when negative incident happened.
  • Provide ePR inputs and digital support for national projects, and identify potential coop opportunities with integration of online and offline media nationwide and other appropriate third parties.
  • Ensure all program expenditures are within budget and correctly charged to the financial control system.

Job Requirements

  • University degree holder, preferably in Journalism / Marketing Communications / PR
  • Minimum 8 years solid experience in FMCG or service industries in marketing, advertising, event management and/or PR in multinational or international corporations in China
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of PR and marketing, as well as management of projects, budgets and crisis communications
  • Sound knowledge of the tourism industry preferred and be able to devise both short and long-term plans to support the set PR strategies
  • Excellent media relationship with national and regional media partners (incl. TV, print, radio, outdoors & digital)
  • Skilful in presentations, negotiations and relationship building
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficient in identifying and resolving complex operational issues
  • Multi-tasking and able to withstand stresses and strains
