Assistant Research & Development Manager

Responsibilities: -

New Product Development (NPD)

• Develop extension flavors and new products, including the processing procedures and techniques and product specifications.
• Assist review and improve the application for new and current raw materials and packaging materials
• Tackle problems encountered during processing and ingredients selection
• Broaden product portfolio according to company direction
• Initiate and follow all R&D activities proactively
• Act as a project leader to manage all NPD for specific zone market with cost effective and speed to market

Technical Support

• Provide technical support on production issues, including processing procedures, preparation of ingredients and packaging process to ensure the final products are safe and meet the required quality
• Cope with the changes in regulations in different zones, provide alternative solutions to markets.
• Draft technical specifications including raw material specification, packaging material specification and product specification.
• Provide technical support on customer enquiries and complaints
• Problem solving on quality and food safety issues
• Work closely with related functions to have continuous review on regulatory compliance and food safety concerns on products
• Provide technical support and training to other functions

Administration and Communication

• Presentable for project update
• Communicate with R&D staff and various functions with clear standpoint to tackle problems
• Establish objectives and to coordinate projects on time and right track
• Serve as effective project champion to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements: -

• Degree or above in Food Science or related disciplines
• Minimum 6 years of experience in food industry, preferred in sauce related product
• Familiar with Chinese Cooking and Eating Tradition
• Knowledge in food production and processing
• Self-confident, pragmatic and able to build consensus
• Analytical, strategic minded and excellent communication skills
• Good command of English, Chinese and Mandarin
• Station in Hong Kong and willing to travel
