DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY ENGINEERING
Assistant Technical Officer (Ref. 22050627-E3)
The appointee will be required to:
(a) supervise laboratory sessions of experiments related to electricity, power, machines and testing & commissioning;
(b) provide technical support to student projects and research projects of the Department;
(c) design, fabricate, repair and maintain electrical, power and motors’ experiments / research rigs / facilities / equipment;
(d) provide design, fabrication, operation and technical advice of electrical and power, building environment and energy research projects;
(e) provide support of all electrical and power related research projects for all students and staff of the Department;
(f) provide support for all electrical and power related consultancy works; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.
Applicants should have:
(a) at least a higher diploma or above in Electrical Engineering or relevant disciplines;
(b) at least three years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
(c) a certificate of registration of electrical worker (Grade B or C);
(d) good knowledge of servicing of electrical and power equipment, with experience in welding being an advantage;
(e) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua; and
(f) good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Preference will be given to those with skills in developing experimental rigs for electrical and power experiments, including motor control panel, and knowledge of electrical installation, welding, cutting pipe works or other workshop practices.
