Reporting to the Chairperson of Sustainability Working Group, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and supporting the Bank Group on Sustainability, viz., ESG and Green & Sustainable Banking, including coordinating and managing initiatives across internal departments and regions where the Bank Group operates in.
Support to shape the vision and journey; to develop, maintain, and enhance the Group-wide Sustainable Banking framework, strategies and processes
Develop or enhance framework, policies and standards relevant to the Sustainability drive of the Bank, in particular on climate risk management and credit origination, approval, review and mitigation
Collaborate with stakeholders including frontline and risk management to integrate and uphold the standards in decision making processes, and to potentially act as point of contact and specialist to resolve disagreement during execution (e.g., during due diligence, ESG risk assessment, etc.)
Coordinate with various internal stakeholders and external parties and function as Project Manager on relevant ESG and Sustainability projects, and preparation of Sustainability Report and disclosures
Collaborate with and facilitate collection from various sources the essential information / data for performance indicators (KPIs) identification, analysis and monitoring
Keep abreast of market and regulatory development of ESG and Sustainability matters
Contribute to fostering the culture of ESG and Green Banking of the Group
Serve as the contact point on sustainability related matters of the Group when required for internal or external stakeholders such as regulators, rating agencies, etc.
Assume Sustainability related projects and initiatives as required and assigned by supervisor
Degree holder or above in Environmental Science, Risk Management, Economics or related disciplines
Minimum 7 years of experience in the banking or consulting industry and familiar with banking business, processes and products. Experience in ESG, green and sustainable banking, and climate risk management an advantage
Fast learner and self-motivated with strong analytical skills and the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data and information
Ability to work independently and to coordinate with different parties to deliver is essential
Excellent command of written English and Chinese
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
