Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for portfolio management of the HuBS (Hong Kong, Bermuda, Singapore) General Accounts, included optimizing risk adjusted returns within risk limits and capital requirements; propose and implement tactical asset allocation strategies; manage cash allocation and trade plan; allocate assets according to PPP requirements; search, propose and implement new asset classes; work with Asset Liability Management Team on strategic asset allocation strategy development
  • Monitor and manage external managers’ performance, controls and compliance
  • Partner with stakeholders to design and implement sound controls in the investment processes and ensure compliance to risk limits, investment order, policies and guidelines; manage regulatory, audit and review processes (e.g. OSFI examinations, BMA reporting)
  • Propose investment assumptions for new product development; review investment plan; manage and track net income targets
  • Coach and supervise junior team members
  • Ad-hoc special projects, including investment initiatives, M&A, systems

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent
  • Chartered Financial Analyst or equivalent experience
  • Possess at least 8 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ actual investment experience within insurance industry or asset management
  • Previous experience on interacting with asset class managers, Business Group liability teams, and corporate functions such as legal, tax, accounting and regulatory would be a plus
  • Exposure to international capital markets (especially. US, HK and China markets) and different asset classes (ie. equities, public bonds, private debts, mortgages, real estate, and derivatives)
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and influencing skills, able to deal with internal teams/Regional Office/Corporate Office independently
