Assistant Warehouse Manager - Outbound Operations (4 days work, 4 days off)

The Operations department is responsible for Distribution Logistics, Digital Production, International Content & Localization, Customer Care & Loss Prevention, International Operations and Quality & Innovation.

Role purpose:

To supervise a number of distribution assistants ensuring that team members carry out all aspects of the distribution process in line with current best practice and to NET-A-PORTER’s stringent standards.Also ensuringthe resources are allocated in such a way that work is prioritised to meet time lines and is completed within agreed levels of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that NET-A-PORTER levels of quality are maintained at all times.
  • To ensure that all staff are properly trained to carry out the duties assigned to them.
  • Monitor the performance of staff in your area and feedback results.
  • Maintain good working relations with your own team, and other departments by communicating effectively.
  • Be proactive in approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Ensure staff are gainfully employed at all times
  • Manage performance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Enhance the working environment through building a cohesive, productive and positive team atmosphere.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven commerical experience of managing/leading teams in a warehouse/logistics/retail environment
  • Significant experience of motivating teams to achieve deadlines in a target-driven environment
  • Experience within a large retail organisation would be beneficial
  • Experience of performance management, coaching and mentoring
  • Strong track record of delivering quantifiable results in the workplace
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in addition to self-motivate when working autonomously
  • Highly computer literate
  • Numerate
