Associate Director, Customer Value Management Analytics



Job Objective:

The Insights and Analytics Team produces state-of-the-art data analytics including propensity modeling, clustering, survival modeling, optimization, price elasticity modeling, strategic analysis, data manipulation and quantifying customer lifetime value. This incumbent will be responsible for increasing customer value of and realizing profitability to Cigna International Corporation through producing customer data analytic.
Job Description:

  • Institutionalize customer data analytics with delivery of incremental business target
  • Realize criticality of affinity partner business model, so as to be proactive and creative in getting new business partners; flexible in nourishing existing ones
  • Realize equal criticality of direct-to-consumer model, so as to produce analytics which enable business growth
  • Strategize data analytics capability to help drive channel and partner annual organic growth
  • Work with the team and outside suppliers through data analytics to arrive on key customer insights and support overall corporate objectives
  • Drive and manage data analytics related projects
  • Introduce and advance customer data analytics technique wherever appropriate in current operating process with clear objectives in increasing prospect contactability, best product optimization, customer life time value, or lapse likelihood, etc.
  • Work closely with the U.S. Insights and Analytics Team of Cigna Corporation, particularly in exploiting statistics model development
  • Believe in teamwork, therefore establish close working relationships with Customer Value Management teams in International Markets and across departments, such as Affinity Partner Relationship Management, Sales, Finance, Actuary, Operations, etc.



  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or Management Science
  • Knowledge in the fields of Insurance, Consumer Finance, Financial Services, Database Marketing and/or Data-mining is highly valued
  • Excellent analytic capability with advanced statistics application knowledge (multivariate and discriminant analysis, CHAID, genetic algorithms, multiple and logistic regression) along with a familiarity with optimization techniques including linear and nonlinear programming
  • Knowledge of statistical packages and/or optimization tools (SAS, SPSS, Minitab, R, Python)
  • A high level of skill with data extraction, manipulation, and warehousing tools (Oracle, SAS, SQL)
  • Strong communication, summarization and presentation skill with fluency in English and Putonghua
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-initiated, highly result-driven, Adaptable and flexible minded
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Great at people management
