INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES OFFICE
The appointee will be required to:
(a) plan, design, implement and manage inter-campus, intra-campus and external networking and communications infrastructure for the University in support of teaching, research and administration functions of the University;
(b) monitor, track and take proactive actions to enhance service level and user experience on University IT infrastructure and support strategic initiatives of University from IT infrastructure perspective;
(c) develop and implement innovative technology to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness on infrastructure operations;
(d) establish risk management provisions to mitigate cyber security threats on IT infrastructure, balancing performance, user experience and related risks;
(e) lead the ITIL service quality management functions and process the network and communications services infrastructure layer of the University enterprise architecture; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognized degree in Computing or Engineering;
(b) proven track record of innovative applications of technology to drive business values in a commercial setting with a minimum of ten years’ experience in the provision of information services in sizeable organizations;
(c) solid hands-on experience in managing networking and communication systems to achieve qualitative and quantitative KPI;
(d) practical experience in design and provision of wired and wireless LAN and WAN carrying multimedia traffic with quality of service across on premise systems and IoT platforms as well as public Cloud;
(e) a proven record of leadership and management;
(f) excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(g) ability to effectively lead, manage, develop and motivate staff and to team with peers;
(h) a commitment to client-focused service provision; and
(i) ability to maintain effective, and accountable relationships with internal stakeholders and outsourced agencies.
Preference will be given to those with prior exposure to Higher Education environment.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
