Reporting to the Editorial Director, the Associate Editor (AE) will work on content across Tatler Dining including innovative editorial packages involving long-form stories, video and multimedia projects. Working closely with the Dining Editor, the AE will focus on creating and commissioning content that will contribute to the growth of the Tatler Dining brand both locally and internationally. They will work across Tatler Dining Hong Kong’s digital products, including social media, and lend support to media partnerships and bespoke projects that involve digital coverage. The AE is required to write knowledgably on food and drink, leveraging their network of industry professionals and influencers for the insider perspective, generating creative long- and short-form stories.

Responsibilities

1. Contribute news, reviews and feature stories on Tatler Dining (digital and print)
2. Assist the Editorial Director with commissioned content (including features, interviews, round-ups and video), including conceptualising and executing of ideas, overseeing information gathering, production, and social/engagement strategy
3. Work with events, marketing and sales departments on relevant client initiatives and commercial projects that require creative content packages
4. Steer the social media direction and content for Tatler Dining and related brands (i.e. Off Menu)

  Deliverables

1. Establishment of strong and engaging features line-up for digital and print
2. Successful reader engagement with Tatler Dining content
3. Creation of new story formats and series ideas, including for video and social media

  Professional Requirements:

• A degree in Journalism or related discipline
• Experience and excellent in English-language feature writing
• Candidates proficient in Cantonese are preferred
• Resourcefulness and should possess a good database of contacts in industry
• Strong interpersonal skills with an independent and proactive work attitude
• An unwavering ability to meet deadlines, good time-management skills and a diligent outlook
• An interest in high society and luxury lifestyle in dining
• Excellent organisational skills
