Associate Editor (Full-time, Hong Kong based)

We are seeking a bilingual candidate (English and Chinese) to work full-time as Associate Editor, supporting the department and working closely with the Managing Editor. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic organisation at the centre of the regional contemporary art scene.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Managing Editor and Head of Communications to produce accurately written materials and online content (in English and Chinese), and to support the development of a clear and engaging voice for AAA and Ideas , our new online publication
  • Editing and copyediting our promotional content, including our e-newsletter, patron newsletter, press releases, e-flux content, and eDMs, to ensure our material meets the highest professional standards
  • Editing and copyediting AAA website text, which include collection, programme, project descriptions, and texts for Ideas
  • Editing and copyediting grant proposals and reports in consultation with the Head of Development and Development Coordinator
  • Copyediting the annual fundraiser catalogue, AAA print newsletter, board reports, special projects, and programme collaterals
  • Working closely with the Managing Editor to revise the AAA Style Guide
  • Other related duties as required from time to time


The ideal candidate

  • An excellent writer with strong analytical ability in English and Chinese
  • An organised team player who is also able to work independently
  • Meticulous in their work, with an eye for detail
  • Able to maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines
  • A degree in journalism, English, communications, or relevant discipline
  • At least two years in print or online media
  • Editing and copyediting experience
  • An interest in contemporary art is preferred
