About the Role:

Swiss Re continues to enhance the CRES functions to better align with business needs in the region and global operating model. This regional role will be responsible for the execution of the technical facilities management and internal environment management workstreams. A solid discipline of operational excellence is required for this regional facilities role. Implementation of workplace technical/engineering guidelines, standards and policy will be undertaken under the direction of the regional head and global process owner

Primary Responsibilities

Facilities Management

1) Operational

Support the leadership and management of the CRES portfolio across a number of operational workstreams and inline with the APAC operations concept.

Asset life cycles

  • Risk management on end of life workplace and IT room support system (power/cooling) related assets
  • Budgeting and planning for workplace & IT room support system (power/cooling) assets
  • Decision making of repair or replace
  • Regulatory knowledge of relevant certification in APAC countries. (WR2, AS, LEW, FSD etc..)

Maintenance and Emergency support

  • Region wide asset maintenance planning
  • Vendor management and scheduling of planned maintenance
  • Unplanned repair via vendor emergency site attendance
  • Co-ordination of stakeholder notifications for planned and unplanned maintenance or service outage
  • Location governance and adherence to Change and Incident Management processes

Technical subject matter expertise

  • Experience with IT room support systems (power/cooling) and related ITIL processes in change/ incident management.
  • Design, build, commission and maintenance track record for:
  • Electrical/Extra Low Voltage (ELV)
  • Mechanical systems
  • Plumbing


  • Planned maintenance/change events
  • Unplanned repairs/incident events
  • Infrastructure risk tracking and the related assets

2) Project

  • Support the leadership and management of the CRES portfolio across a number of project workstreams as related to design/build and commissioning highlighted in operational responsibilities.

3) SME Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement training plans for CRES APAC employees, fostering a continuous improvement mind set.
  • Collaborate with global and regional SME's to define initiatives and issue resolution for implementation in APAC.

Internal Environment Management

  • Run the environmental and energy management in the region in line with the divisional guidance, the global management system (GMS) and the ISO 14001 / 50001 standard.
  • Moderate and coordinate related activities at the single locations and departments
  • Train local staff as needed (e.g. Reporting)
  • Secure reporting of Environmental Performance Indicators (EPI)
  • Manage the environmental legal compliance process in the region
  • Run internal environmental and energy audits at single locations
  • Manage regional and local environmental initiatives (awareness, efficiency projects, ...)
  • Develop regional specific processes as needed and manage continuous improvement
  • Regional environmental input as required to the COyou2 programme

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support Head CRES APAC and Head CRES Operations APAC with projects as required.

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a service and/or facility management context.
  • Corporate Real Estate experience is a must
  • ITIL based change & incident management knowledge and track record.
  • Experience with ISO14001 standards and internal audit certification desired.
  • Solid understanding of large/complex corporations and corresponding premises needs is essential.
  • Capability to provide umbrella operational function as well as detailed solutions for in-country needs.
  • A refined interpersonal skill in a culturally and geographically diverse team is essential.
  • Ability to meet demanding requirements and deadlines.
  • Timely, accurate and efficient reporting skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong business acumen and outstanding written/oral communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent inter-personal, people management and business aligned skills, together with a strong desire to lead by example.
