Business Development Manager
  • Be a seasoned BD or sales professional, with between 3-5 years experience
  • Be open minded, self-aware with a high degree of personal and professional integrity
  • Possess strong commercial acumen and have the ability to apply solid commercial judgement to this business area
  • Consistently protect the business by ensuring compliance procedures managing risks and escalating where appropriate to protect the reputational integrity
  • The ability to manage strong relationships, developing trust and credibility with customers, partners, peers, teams, internal and external stakeholders
  • Be proactive in sharing of best practice to peers and teams forcontinuous improvement of performance in their area of expertise
  • Be performance and results driven and be driven by winning new business
  • Have a strong record of performance delivery in your area of expertise through increased sales
  • Have the ability to analyse issues, develop solutions and influence key decisions, balancing risk with results
  • Drive customer focus in everything we do to gain and retain high quality customers for the long term success
  • Must be fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Have an understanding of the foreign exchange industry (banks and money changers) in Hong Kong would be highly advantageous
Job Duties:
  • This position will be based in Hong Kong (Sheung Wan district)
  • We have a rewarding opportunity for our Business Development Manager (BDM) to identify and drive new wholesale and partner opportunities in Hong Kong
  • In your new role as BDM, your focus will be on building new commercial relationships with wholesale customers (e.g. Banks, Shipping Companies and Money Changers etc) as well as developing new business models for partners (e.g. travel agents, airlines etc)
  • You will work closely with the Greater China dealing teams, as well as the Products and Marketing team based in Shanghai
  • Help win new business in-line with the strategy and expand business with existing clients
  • Define local geography strategy and execute growth plans
  • Lobbying/prospecting/Travelex representation in geography
  • Develop tailored customer propositions to meet needs of clients identified in BD strategy, in agreement with commercial, IT and product frameworks
  • Tender and Commercial Proposal management
