Reporting to: Senior UK buying team & MD

To plan, source and develop a commercial, comprehensive and balanced product range to achieve sales and profit targets in line with brand objectives. To manage and develop key supplier relationships in Asia.


Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Build a balanced and commercial product range to achieve sales and profit targets in line with Brand values.
  • Source new season products and negotiate prices to achieve and exceed margin targets where possible.
  • Review current and historical performance and determine future product strategy, working closely with the Buying team in the UK, Senior Designer and UK MD.
  • Propose new ideas for lifestyle product development, working closely with design to pull together new season product briefs and develop new products for sign off. 
  • Work closely with the merchandiser to ensure range plans deliver a Good, Better, Best, core & non-core product offer, balanced pricing strategy and optimum range phasing, in line with brand values
  • Clearly identify commercial supplier sampling requirements, working closely with design to ensure product integrity in styling whilst ensuring appropriate quality standards. 
  • Ensure all products sourced for Baby, Home, Living and Beauty meet the highest quality standards and that the packaging of such product and all components are approved to meet critical path dates.
  • In collaboration with the UK Buying team ensure that suppliers deliver on their commitment to quality and ethical standards and work efficiently within our processes.
  • Undertake regular supplier factory visits and review meetings, keeping on top of all relevant suppliers developments and build really strong, long term strategic partnerships.
  • Consistently deliver excellent standards of customer service, to be pro-active in seeking customer feedback from all business channels to help develop future ranges.
  • Review returns regularly with the UK business and continue to improve quality standards, make sure suppliers are kept appraised and lessons are learnt for new product ranges

The Person

You will need to be a graduate, preferably with a relevant fashion/design qualification. You’ll also have been working in a lifestyle product buying role for an extensive period and have an excellent working knowledge of buying systems. You’ll be great negotiator, highly creative, commercial and be able to work using your own initiative.
