  • The Category Inventory Planner is trusted advisor to the regional planning lead to support the end-to-end inventory strategies and acts as a catalyst for driving continuous improvement through the development & optimization of supply planning.
  • This position is responsible for building cross-team relationships, negotiating with merchandise planning, finance, logistics, resource planning and commercial to ensure the development of profitable inventory strategies through demand and supply alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between planning and inventory management to build delivery plans & flow forecasts
  • Responsible for building effective inventory strategies that align with financial objectives of the company
  • Accountable for collaborating with Inventory Management Lead and Category Inventory Managers to resolve issues related to product shipment delays
  • Recommend exception management activities
  • Support preparation of country S&OP and recommend profitable inventory decisions
  • Demand and Supply Alignment- Identify demand signal across markets for individual categories and engage with SSM & Resource Planning (RP) to ensure that supply is in-line with demand
  • Hind sighting:
    • Measure SKU level performance by looking at factors influencing KPI and make recommendations based on the analysis to minimize impact of excess inventory at free cash flows for the region- Interco’s
    • Identify key Demand signal trends, provide business insight, project excess inventory at PC9 level and coordinate recommendations and actions- Closeout and Left To Sell
  • Delivery Production requests to RP based on target Safety Stock, production lead time and supply chain strategies at PC9 level
  • Owns communication with RP to prioritize plan, review/ late/no Pconf deliveries
  • Coordinate off-cycle requests/ requirement of affiliates - AGR
  • Ensure to achieve Service Level and Fill-rate
  • System Report Update:
    • Report FG Supply Planning Metrics through BI Reports to AMA Region, Provide corrective actions for Deviations if any
    • Analyze the FG Supply Planning Metrics through BI reports to enable faster business decisions o Periodically Review Supply Planning Master data i.e. LT, MSQ with Local RP/SSM for accurate FG planning
  • Generate and Publish FGI PREQ Plan Key Attributes:
  • This role is ideal for a person with strong analytical skills & business acumen who is looking to develop into the next stage of his/her career path. • The successful candidate must be highly organized and should have experience in inventory & finished goods planning and a business background in retail, wholesale or e-commerce channel sales or marketing. • He/She must be able to work in a highly demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
  • The right candidate will be flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting. They must also be decisive and able to move with speed to implement their own ideas.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving capabilities including the ability to quickly identify and communicate implications from consumer, internal and marketplace information
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad, diverse group of business partners, mainly the cross-functional team
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills Specialized Knowledge/Technical Skills: • Technical proficiency with computer software tools and the ability to learn new ones quickly (Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, Power Point)
  • APO – Demand Planning and Supply Network planning – is comfortable working in planning book and a SME • Advanced usage in ESCC – SAP
  • Production planning and scheduling Experience:
  • 5-7 years Category Management & finished goods planning experience (preferably in a retail environment)


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience)
