Key Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for delivering multiple data initiatives and programs across the CIB (although some may also be firm-wide), working with country, regional and global teams. The s uccessful applicant will have the ability to own tasks under aggressive targets and effectively adapt and reprioritize to changes in plan.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Primary accountability for successful delivery of a number of concurrent high priority data related projects
  • Partner with the Chief Data Office executives in defining and delivering a best in class global data strategy considering country specific requirements
  • Perform all relevant activities covered by the firm-wide data risk management policy and standard
  • Present a program level view of all CDO initiatives to senior management and governance committees
  • Develop reporting/ metrics to support governance meetings and managers with supervisory responsibilities e.g. Data Protection Officers
  • Partner with Compliance, Control Management and Cyber Tech Controls to advise on local implementation and ensure that local data management implementations in support of regulatory data-related requirements at country and legal entity level are consistent with CIB-wide data management practices and tools
  • Incorporate Regulatory Change Implementation into relevant project frameworks for all data related regulations and ensure processes and procedures are in place to meet the requirements; partner with Firmwide leads to ensure implementation is consistent across the location.
  • Prepare/participate, as required, in regulatory inspections/audits/CCOR testing
  • Partner with Compliance, Government Relations and Office of Regulatory Affairs in the region to stay on top of data-related regulatory initiatives
  • Engage actively where appropriate in data related regulatory advocacy ensuring that a message consistent with CIB's global data advocacy strategy and Country level advocacy is on top of lawmakers' and regulators' mind across the region
  • Promote awareness of data culture across all CIB LOBs, including conducting data related training and communication campaigns
  • Drive Data Quality Strategy and implementation with overall goal to drive business value from better quality data
  • Partner closely with our AI/ML teams, AI Research, QR, Front Office, Business Managers, Operations and Technology teams
  • Act as a trusted senior partner to the business and provide advisory services as needed.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree with at least 10 years proven track record of demonstrable success in delivering desired Program/Project Management outcomes, preferably within the financial services industry,
  • Demonstrated experience in emerging technology and big data in the financial services industry
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Experience leading high profile programs and / or teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with senior management and other senior stakeholders, including influencing at this level of seniority to support the goals of the business.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and communication skills, including use of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx is a plus
  • Effective influencing and persuasion skills with groups outside of core team; ability to build consensus at a senior level.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to direct and lead others, directly and indirectly, locally, and globally.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a changing work environment.
  • Ability to own tasks under aggressive targets and effectively adapt and reprioritize to changes in plan
