As a well-established insurance entity, we take care of every need of our customers with an optimized service excellence through the Bank’s retail and commercial network, with a dedicated team of professionals in place.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Chief Investment Officer.

Investment is one of the key sources of profit as well as risk to the company and sound management of investment is paramount to the success of business. The jobholder is responsible for day to day investment management and development of the Company which has rapidly growing fund size (Assets under Management including Equities, Fixed Income, Alternative Investment etc).


Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop the investment strategies for Hang Seng Insurance Company Limited (HSIC) funds to optimize the return/risk profile within the constraints of liability matching and restrictions arising from capital, accounting, tax, regulatory, compliance and other considerations.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate fund structures / investment vehicles to maximize investment efficiency.
  • Build and maintain a sound investment risk framework for all investment risks and ensure corporate governance standards are met.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Manage relationships with fund managers, investment bankers, consultants, Actuary, Finance, Product, Risk, Group Insurance and other areas in relation to the investment matters



  • University graduate
  • Over ten years industry experience
  • Strong investment knowledge, CFA an advantage
  • Fellow of a recognized actuarial organization an advantage
  • Practical experience of investment & ALM in an insurance context an advantage
  • Strong quantitative and programming skills. Practical experience using Excel, BVA, Prophet and stochastic modeling techniques an advantage.
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills, ability to think “outside the box" and conceptualize solutions to complex issues
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Innovative and strategic thinker, results oriented.
