About Business Resiliency

Organizationally, Business Resiliency is one of the identified elements of JPMC's Operational Resilience Framework. The Line of Business specific Resiliency function provides a formal structure allowing for cohesive and centralized oversight of the enterprise wide control environment, partnering closely with Firmwide Business Resiliency, Compliance, Risk, Audit and other control disciplines.

Job Description

The Business Resiliency Management group, in partnership with the business, is responsible for the management and delivery of the firm's Business Resiliency Program which includes development of business resiliency strategies, co-ordination of testing of recovery capabilities and coordination of crisis management

This role is based in Hong Kong and is responsible for providing MIS, reporting, automation and control & governance oversight for the resiliency team, or providing back-up capabilities to the resiliency managers including conduct resiliency quality reviews, and support with resiliency tests, exercises, large scale crisis events as needed.

You will be developing partnerships with businesses end to end i.e. front office, operations and technology, and have interactions with individuals at a senior levels in the organization. Other key partnerships exist with the internal providers of Business Recovery Facilities and Technology, as well as with the Global Business Resiliency Crisis Management, Audit and Operational/Information Risk Management and Oversight and Controls teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Resiliency Program Delivery & Execution

  • Supports the execution of the firm's business resiliency policies and standards and resiliency program
  • Participate in and support planning, coordinating and reporting of business resiliency quality check reviews and testing events.
  • Identify gaps in capability and manage their remediation through resiliency quality reviews.
  • Assist and arbitrate the activities of other Resiliency professionals; and be able to lead large scale crisis events, communicating to senior Business and Regional Management
  • Conduct risk profiling for the firm's locations, functions and initiatives; and be able to accurately and intelligently articulate risks, threats and vulnerabilities
  • Promote Business Resiliency knowledge sharing among the Business Management community including regular Business Resiliency awareness sessions.
  • Assist with recovery sites planning, management and coordination.

Governance, Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare, monitor and publish resiliency metrics and reports, and ensuring reports and metrics integrity and follow up and due diligence on any non-adherence
  • Act in an advisory capacity with respect to resiliency tools, metrics and data submissions
  • Evaluate options for automation of reports and engage in process improvements
  • Partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities of leveraging advanced analytics
  • Investigate and provide resolution on queries related to reports and work with Resiliency group on enhancements
  • Streamline, rationalize and support the resiliency regulatory governance and reporting for APAC.

Job specific skills (evidenced):

Required -

  • Minimum 3 years experience in objective reporting & analytics and project management skills within the business/product management, controls or operations functions
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant work experience within the financial services sector, preferably with a track record of supporting diverse teams within a global environment
  • Diligence and attention to detail, and proven track record on managing accurate and timeline reporting and data analytics
  • Strong organization skills, initiative and discipline to timelines so as to deliver on business results

Desired -

  • Demonstrated collaboration, partnership and influencing skills, and the ability to interface with business, controls, operations and technology contacts
  • Proven ability to work within a team and independently, and represent Asia views with cross-region/country stakeholders
  • Flexibility i.e. ability to adjust to sudden changes to meet business objectives
