Digital Markets

The Digital Markets organisation is responsible for leading and driving the strategic transformation of the Markets business, leveraging technology and innovation to enhance business processes, provide scale and efficiency through automation and develop best in class digital solutions to deliver our products and services to clients. We work closely with partners in Trading, Sales as well as Technology and Operations to develop new business solutions to help expand and grow the business and enhance our offering to clients. We actively engage on defining the strategy and future vision of the Markets business, leading ecommerce, automation and digital distribution and developing the market structure of our industry.

Global Equities

Global Equities is part of the CIB and offers solutions, which include trade execution, program and special equity trading services; equity-linked derivatives and structuring for new equity-linked issuances; marketing, structuring and trading services on equity-based or fund-based derivatives products; and a wide range of research, sales, execution, clearing, financing and reporting services.


We are looking for a Vice President or Executive Director level person to join the Equities Digital Product Team to support the Equity Derivatives business. The successful candidate with join a small and strategically important team as part of Global Equities front office and the Digital Markets org.

You will lead transformation initiatives to develop and grow our electronic execution and digital distribution capabilities, and to grow our low-touch electronic businesses. The role will have extensive interaction with Trading and Sales teams within the Equities business, technology teams supporting the major Equities platforms, and the broader Digital Markets organisation including Digital Platform and Digital Strategy teams.

This role will involve some global travel as and when necessary.

Key responsibilities:

  • Full end to end leadership of digital transformation initiatives
  • Developing best in class electronic execution and digital distribution capabilities
  • Leading the shift from high-touch manual voice to low-touch electronic business workflows
  • Managing programme governance and facilitating strong effective project management
  • Partnering with technology to prioritise development work, manage resource allocation, co-ordinate implementation roadmaps
  • Direct interaction with internal and external clients to understand and address requirements and priorities
  • Taking an idea from inception to delivery including rollout and deployment to client
  • Gathering and documenting requirements, co-ordinating implementation & development, testing and deployment
  • Providing regular updates/reports to key stakeholders communicating progress and define key metrics and success criteria

Key qualifications - in filling this role we are seeking a candidate with an excellent work ethic and with skills and experience to complement the existing team. The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrable experience in a product management / product development role, ideally within a Markets Trading/Sales environment;
  • Knowledge of Equity / Equity Derivatives trading business and products or other equivalent asset class;
  • Strong programme or project management experience;
  • Strong communication and partnership skills;
  • Experience of working with technology teams, familiarity with agile development preferred;
  • Structured and analytical approach;
  • Commercially-focused and entrepreneurial;
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills;
  • Quick learner with strong attention to detail;
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter who is creative with a 'can-do' attitude;
  • Confident working independently;
  • Ability to formulate a future state vision and execute on implementation;
  • Understanding of market structure and how it is likely to evolve;
  • Ability to leverage data to drive decision making and to drive the product development lifecycle.
