The Equities Middle Office comprises of business-aligned support teams for the Equity derivatives, Cash, Prime and SBL traders and marketers based in Hong Kong. The business covers all Asian markets; with products that range from cash equity to highly structured derivatives.
The Trading Assistant is responsible for supporting the traders and marketers from an operational perspective and maintaining stringent controls in daily trading activities. The team works in close collaboration with trading, marketing, product control team, legal, compliance, settlement and control teams.
We are specifically seeking trading assistant candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience supporting the Flow and Exotic Derivatives, and Structured Products businesses.
This role involves the following functions:
Trade capture and booking of OTC & listed derivative transactions, primary, secondary, and issuance of securitized derivatives, and listed securities and F&O hedges.
Trade lifecycle management for all listed, OTC, and securitized derivative products including coupon observation, barrier monitoring, and physical settlement of structured products.
Assist in risk management in ensuring pricing for derivative instruments are correctly captured and risk profiles are correct as per trading and sales expectations
Assist in inventory management and alert trading desk and marketing desk when inventory may be insufficient
Ensure traders and marketers are in compliance with rules and regulations in various local jurisdictions
Continuous project work involving process improvement, system implementation, new product or new market rollouts
Structured derivatives, equity swaps, interest rate swaps, futures, options. variance swaps, cash equity, bonds, convertible bonds, stock borrow and loan
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:
Previous exposure to equity and equity derivative products is essential. Mathematics, Finance or Science background preferred
Knowledge of various equity derivative and structured products including equity options, volatility/variance swaps, accumulator/decumulators, range accruals, ELNs, ELIs, etc.
Experience in supporting equity derivative sales, trading, and structuring front office is beneficial.
Strong proficiency with MS Office and the ability to pick up complex systems architecture easily. Knowledge of VBA / SQL would be an asset

This individual will have extensive contact with traders, marketers and external brokers on a daily basis.

Lastly, the candidate needs to be able to adapt to changing environments and possess the mindset to seek continuous improvement in processes, controls, etc.
