CIB - Sales and Marketing - Sales Assistant (China Team)

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Handle, operate, and follow up on post-trade process to ensure smooth front to back workflows and accuracy of all entries, ensure internal controls are followed; check all risk and control measures (incl. not limit to coordinate with operations to pick up transactions; make client call; close/amend the deal; book the trade ; oversee settlement and post-trade activities)
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure underlying requirements are adhered with, valuation statements are delivered, clients' audit requirements are responded to, and settlement processes are completed efficiently
  • Help to prepare presentation/marketing materials (generic and client-specific) covering market updates, product ideas, and regulatory frameworks for senior salespersons
  • Prepare Termsheets
  • Manage internal sales blotters, trade records, as well as prepare management reporting.
  • Ensure utmost precision in risk management on the desk: positions and swaps monitoring, Nostro-balance management, error-free squaring of risk
  • Provide timely support for internal queries and solve post-trade related issues.
  • Work closely with various internal parties i.e. Sales, Trading, Business Managers, RMs, Operation, IT, Risk, Client Services, Compliance, Legal etc.
  • Assist on ad-hoc requests and handle queries in a timely manner, work as partnership while consistently keeping an independent mindset.
  • Product Scope: mainly and not limited to fixed income and commodity
  • Participate in continuous improving of work flow and product development
  • Be able to help on ad-hoc requests from the Sales Desk and Clients
  • Good knowledge of system architecture (front to back workflow) and product knowledge
  • Document the above routines and processes
  • Report IT issues and processes requiring improvements
  • Working understanding of the applicable regulation

Requirements:
 

  • 1-3 years working experience in Sales or middle office roles in investment bank
  • Good knowledge in front-to-back sales cycle process; and good understanding of Risk, P&L and pricing
  • Understanding of basic operational risks
  • Market/Derivatives Knowledge is a plus
  • Good IT knowledge (Excel, VBA, data analysis/query)
  • Client focus and commercial attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proactive and displays strong self-organization and multi-tasking capacity
  • Passion for capital markets and trading environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong ethics and integrity
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Analytical mindset and problem solving
