CIB - Sales & Marketing - Sponsor Finance - Associate

This role sits within the front office and will be working in a dynamic and busy environment. Your role will be to help originate and execute financing opportunities from Asian clients, with a particular focus on sponsors and special situations funds. The role requires an in depth understanding of cross-market products/themes (equity, credit and real estate) in order to identify and drive transactions with this client base. You will help maintain relationships with clients and match our services and products to their needs. You will work with Banking, PB, trading, sales and structuring teams to provide comprehensive client coverage, including supporting APAC sales force with the distribution of illiquid opportunities. You will also be involved in providing marketing ideas and help initiate transactions. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to gain wider exposure to other areas of the bank including banking and wealth management.


Your Background

  • Experience gained within a sales/structuring role in an investment banking environment
  • Ability to originate and execute complex financing structure across different asset classes
  • Ability to use a well-established selling style that fits own personality and can effectively adjust it to individual clients as needed
  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas, both verbally and via documentation, and be able to defend their validity and target messages to different audiences.
  • Ability to navigate the onshore landscape of rules and regulations (especially China and India)

  • Minimum 3/4 years of financing experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • English fluency is essential
  • Mandarin mother tongue
  • In depth Excel and Powerpoint knowledge
